what is GroundUp?

GroundUp aims to increase food sovereignty starting with educating our youth and empowering them to grow food and cook for themselves.

Through designing, creating, and implementing a garden, youth work together, problem solve, plan, and creatively engage with the garden. Hands-on projects provide a platform for participants to develop curiosity, critical thinking, communication, and be empowered through seeing their ideas come to life and learning how to bring food from a seed to something delicious. This after-school program is an opportunity for students to ground themselves in community, creativity, and practical hands-on skills.
